Why there is no cable-placement step
The electricity system tracks total generation, total use, stored charge, and capacity for the farm. The separate WireWireA crafted material; farm devices share a power pool rather than manual cable drawing. item appears in crafting recipes; it is not a cable-drawing tool. Once a power producer or consumer is placed, the farm-power UI appears at the upper left.
Troubleshoot a machine that will not run
- 01
Confirm the generator is actually active: fuel generators need fuel, solar stops at night, and wind or solar must be outdoors or in a zero-durability building.
- 02
Compare the first UI line: generation must cover use, or a battery must have stored charge.
- 03
Compare the second line: without a battery, excess generation cannot create useful stored capacity.
- 04
If storage is zero and use exceeds generation, pause a consumer or add generation before blaming the machine recipe.
Power hardware at a glance
| Hardware | Output / capacity | Important condition |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Generator | 2 generation | Fuel-powered; fails during acid rain |
| Fuel GeneratorFuel GeneratorA fuel-driven generator with more output than the basic model. | 3 generation | Consumes the same fuel-duration classes |
| Improved Fuel GeneratorFuel GeneratorA fuel-driven generator with more output than the basic model. | 4 generation | Higher output from each fuel interval |
| Wind GeneratorWind GeneratorWeather-dependent renewable power equipment. | 0–2 by weather | Works outdoors or in a zero-durability building |
| Solar GeneratorSolar GeneratorDaylight and weather determine its power output. | 0 at night; 0.2–3 by weather | Works outdoors or in a zero-durability building |
| Small BatterySmall BatteryEarly power storage with a capacity of 300 in the checked guide data. | 300 capacity | Stores surplus farm power |
| Heavy BatteryHeavy BatteryA larger battery that joins the farm's shared power pool. | 1,500 capacity | Larger shared storage pool |
How to get Wire
