Open the box

Place the Cardboard Box on your active item bar or select it in your inventory.

Use the alternate interaction, not the normal confirm button. On controller, this is reported as Circle on PlayStation layouts or B on Xbox layouts.

Move up to five item stacks into the box window.
- 04
Close it and leave the box in your backpack; you do not have to place it on the farm.
What boxes are good for
- Bundling wood, stoneStoneA basic construction resource used in machines and structures., fiber, ores, and other common materials during long scavenging trips.
- Freeing early backpack slots before expensive bag upgrades.
- Keeping crafting materials available while the box remains in your carried inventory.
Durability warning
The starter Cardboard Box reports a limited use count and eventually breaks. Use it as compact travel storage, then move valuable or irreplaceable items into durable farm storage when available.
